
The Financial Services Group of Livery Companies (FSG) was founded in 2006 aims to support the Lord Mayor in his overseas visits, his meetings in the City with overseas delegations, and his role of promoting "the City" brand of UK financial and other business services. The Financial Services Group can act also as a gateway for those wishing to establish businesses in the City or who require professional and financial services in their country of operation. Livery Professionals supporting the work of the City.
The FSG of Livery Companies is the largest such group in the Livery and meets formally four times a year to exchange views and organise a series of events.
The FSG organises an annual meeting of Livery Company Masters and also arranges events such as The Sustainable Finance panel. In addition, The Sheriffs’ Challenge, which is an annual speaking event for Year 12 students from London schools, is held under the auspices of the FSG, and is organised by the Worshipful Company of Educators.



The Chairman
The current Chairman of the Financial Services Group of Livery Companies is Mr. Mark Spofforth.
Mark is a Past Master of the Worshipful Company of Horners, and Chartered Accountants. Mark is a Past President of ICAEW and High Sheriff of West Sussex 2016-17.
The photograph shows the Chairman’s badge for the Financial Services Group of Livery Companies (“FSG”). The badge was generously presented to the FSG on 14 October 2014 by Jeremy Goford, Actuary and founder Convenor of the FSG, established 23 May 2006.
The 24ct gold plated sterling silver badge was designed by Jeremy Goford, Karen Richardson, Past Chairman, and Ian Richardson, the first Secretary to the Group, with Grant Macdonald, Silversmiths and crafted by that firm. The centrepiece of the badge is the hand painted enamel shield of the City of London and it is surrounded by hand painted enamel shields of each of the Livery Companies that are represented on the FSG.
The black ribbon that supports the badge carries a lozenge containing the City sword and mace and the letters “FSG”.
